FOUNDATION AND OBJECTIVES
The French-speaking Swiss Romande Section of the Association was founded in 1975 on the initiative of a group of Swiss and Japanese personalities: Mr. Hideo Kitahara (Ambassador of Japan to the UN in Geneva), Mr. Jean de Rham (former Ambassador of Switzerland to Japan), Mr. Claude Barbey, a businessman in Geneva, Mr. Cyril Bovet (Nestle) in La Tour de Peilz, Mr. Maurice Champoud in Vevey, Mr. Rokuro Kurachi in Geneva and Mr. André Tombet, Attorney, in Geneva.
Its objective, as for the Swiss-German Section, is to deepen the links between Japan and Switzerland.
THE SWISS-JAPAN ASSOCIATION, Swiss Romande Section, encourages its members to participate in Japanese as well as Swiss cultural activities to enhance the networking in social, economic and spiritual areas of both countries for better understanding between the two cultures. |
